Default 92 key fob increase range?

I still have the original key fob for my 1992 SC300. It works but I need the fob to be close to the driver side rear corner window. Does anyone know what I can do to extend the range of the fob? Searched but wasn’t able to find anything.

Have not seen or read any solutions for that issue. The fob is 28 years old, though. Best to ensure the internals are clean and free of dust build up and replace the battery with a fresh one....

I rarely use the fob button to open / close the car with the fragility of the actuators and keep the door locks lubricated (silicon spray - NOT WD40).

That's odd, I'm pretty sure the receiver for the remote is in the driver fender.

Pro tip - you can hold the remote to your chin and your skull will act as an antenna. Give it a shot.

Youre talking about the single side button remote right? if so there is a solder point on the inside of the remote near where the key is held in the housing. Over time that solder point can crack. The technical term is cold solder. I had to redo it on my sc300 because i broke off the key out of the housing by accident but an unexpected byproduct of doing so was increased range.

yes, it’s the single side button remote. Hope someone has a pick of what I have to solder. Thanks for the info.
