Default Are their two different color tan interiors?

Excuse me if this has been asked before but I was the shop the other day and their was a pre-97 sc400 there with tan interior. As I looked closer his upper dash and upper door parts that come in the darker tan was noticeably lighter than the same parts in my 97 tan interior. I really hate the tan interior, no disrepsect to tan interior but its the darker tan that I dont like but than I saw his and it was lighter which was actually ok looking. I said i would never do another intrior swap from tan to blk like i did with my GS but as I look for colors that I am going to paint this SC the tan is kind of limiting the choices plus its a dark dooky color.

Has anyone ever rewrapped the upper darker tan color in the lighter tan color like the seats and lower door panels? I think that would look really good.

I have never seen 2 differnet tan color interiors - aside from the obvious pieces that are darker

I'm not crazy, well sometimes I get called that but this time I had both cars right there in front of me at the shop and the uppersection on my dash was darker than the sc there. Mine looks more dookier if that can better explain it. Hmm, I'm heading up the shop next week again to pick up my car i will check and take pics..

Has anyone ever done the upper part in the lighter color to match the lower portion?

Hm, maybe his interior has been exposed to the sun more so its lighter. If you don't like your dooky pieces how about a black/tan interior like in some of the 97-00 SCs.

Actually my 96 carpet is lighter than my 97 and the tan appears lighter slightly but the brown portion looks the same. I have not put them side by side but I will. I am getting ready to dump all the dark brown in my 97's interior as well.

Cool, so I'm not crazy this time. I did an interior swap on my GS from tan to blk and it was a pain taking task to make it look like it never had tan to begin with. I'm really not trying to go through that again so I was thinking maybe just having the upper darker tan peices re wrapped in the lighter tan. Never really thought about doing the upper part blk but that might actually look really good if I than added blk suede down the center of the seats to play off the black, hmm. Thats an idea i will keep in mind when the time comes. Thanx guys.

I've worried about this switching some of the more beat up interior pieces. They can look like a different factory color from being so damn faded.

I hope a proper cleaning will do the trick.

I've thought of doing something like this with some trim pieces. Anyone have a material they've used/recommend?
