Default Problem with tail light

I have been getting the little "tail light is out bulb" on my dash, so i went ahead and took a look to see which bulb was out, finally i figure out its my left stop light bulb that is out, the next day i buy the bulb and replace it, i turn the car on and the " tail light bulb" is still on so i take a look and see that the light turns on when my dad steps on the brake. everything seems normal. so i just said well as long as it works for now, since i thought the problem was probably the wattage on the bulb i bought. however i was getting ready to go out at night and i am told my stop light isnt working. so after taking a look i figure out that if i turn on my headlights my left stop light does not work, but when i dont turn on my headlights the stop light works, the right one is ok and as a matter of fact the old bulb that i thought was out still works, i already searched and could not come up with anything, what could be the problem?

check for corrosion in any of the sockets. sometimes corrosion will cause the warning light to be on even though all of the bulbs are lighting up. double check that every single bulb is lighting up first, however.

That's what I would check for. My 94 SC had badly corroded sockets, they were so bad the bulbs were basically fused to the sockets. I ended up getting a new taillight harness w/ new bulbs. My warning light never came back on after that.

i have the issue where, all my lights work, but the warning light comes on. Ive changed almost all the bulbs already and i normally clean the sockets with electronics cleaner and put some dieletric grease when i change the bulbs, i will check the other sockets as well.
