Im tired of my hyperblink... I'm like an idiot tapping my lever to synchronize normal blink haha.

Jetset,

Do a search on modifying the flasher unit. I recently did it and it solved the hyper blinking issue. It will be a much cleaner and simpler method than adding in resistors or hiding extra bulbs. All you have to do is replace a capacitor in the flasher unit. The blinking pattern will be slightly different than stock, but it won't be that noticeable. The emergency light will be slower, but you rarely use it.

Updated page 1. You will need two 6 ohm modules per side.

Yeah.. I know the thread you are talking about, I actually put them into pieces. I just don't want to take off my bulb on the cluster.

you guys know why the 12ohm doesnt work right.

two 6ohm resistors in series = one 12ohm resistor.

two 6ohm resistors in parallel = one 3ohm resistor

for parallel you take ( (1/6) + (1/6) )^ (-1) = 3
you take the sum of the inverses, and then inverse the result.
so you would want a 3ohm power resistor, not a 12ohm

I am going from 95 tails to 97 tails, and im not 100% sure but i don't think i have the hyperblink. but i do get the light on the dash. will have to experiment today and will post my results.

but 2 6ohms is a good idea as there is more area to dissipate the heat.

ok, people with 95 tails. upgrading to 97 style does not create hyperblink.
I do have the dash light on only after i press the brake or turn on my headlights.

Im gonna try putting a 3ohm resistor in sometime this week and will post results.

Hahahha Good stuff.

Let us know how the 3ohm works out.

my flashers work just fine because i had the 95 tails originally.
the 97 tails have the same amount of bulbs as the 95 tails for the turn signal (1).
if you had the 92 tails you have hyper blink because theres supossed to be like 2 more bulbs in there cause the blinkers so huge.

everything works fine, but the dash light is on because of the brake bulbs.
The 95 tails have one additional small brake light bulb (#4CP, on with your lights), and one additional large brake light (#1156, when the pedals pressed)

I don't think the small one (4CP) can set off the dash light by itself because it draws so little power, but the 1156 needs to be compensated for.

The 4CP uses the white/black wire and solid green wire(live with your lights)
The 1156 uses the white/black wire and the green/white(live with brake pedal)

Basically to fix the brake part of the problem you need to do the same thing on the GREEN/WHITE wire instead of the GREEN/YELLOW wire.
I assume because they both use 1156 bulbs that the resistors needed should stay pretty close to the same, however i dont know if you will need one or two 6ohm resistors because i dont know how many turn signal bulbs the 92 tails have (2 or 3).
maybe someone can chime in on that

will attack it tomorrow most likely. I really hate the idea of removing my dash to pull a bulb that has a function. I would like to know when my lights go out before the police notice.

ok, I just got the crazy idea of using a higher output 1156 bulb. will let everyone know how it goes. the stock ones draw 21watts. they make a 1156 bulb that draws 50watts and is super bright. as long as its not hot enough to melt the front of the lens off, it might fix the problem without need for resistors. It just might melt the lens off though i think they get to like 380degrees while regular ones only reach like 200

theoretically of course...

If you have a 95-96 SC and the bulb indicator bothers you that much, you can replace your current taillight ecu with that of the 97-00 and it should fix the issue. Even better if you get it cheap since they are somewhat pricey.

Anyone try this flasher yet? Should work just fine I'd think, eh?

Interesting, I might have to be a guinea pig for it.
