Default How do guys keep Cruise Control with Aftermarket Steering wheels??

Is this even possible?

Are there kits that relocate the cruise to the horn button area of a aftermarket steering wheel?

Is it possible to wire something up that would work?

I'm working on this option as well. I thought about installing an original SC cruise switch arm further down the steering column. I just need the wiring connections since the last guy just cut the wires. It looks like the correct wires are all pastel colored. Any info would be great!

I found a Classified add that is what were looking for in order to keep cruise control.
I'm not trying to advertise just showing the necessary product in order to keep cruise in our cars

1) Works Bell hub adapter kit -
PLUG AND PLAY - comes with SRS delete, and CRUISE CONTROL is
fully functional using the horn button bezel.
works with MOMO, Sparco, and Nardi/Personal steering wheels

I know this is old, but I’m trying to
source the works bell hub and want to make sure I’m getting the correct one to maintain cruise control.

or:

will either one of these work?

there are DIY options but you will need to do some wiring and soldering.
The answer you seek is in here somewhere https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sc-...upgrade-4.html

There is only one option for people who want to run aftermarket steering wheels and keep cruise control.

It is the HKB Sports Boss kit.
Part # OT-135

This is confirmed to work on all SCs, Supras, and GS car from 92-97.
The cruise control system changed in 1998 and as of right now, there is nothing you can buy to keep cruise on 98+ cars.

Sometimes you get lucky and find someone selling their HKB hub here in the USA BNIB or used, but that's rare and when that happens they usually sell quickly.
I don't think there is any shop online that stocks these in the USA.
RHDJapan is your best bet.

I just put this hub on my 98 - I get the cruise illuminated on the dash. Haven't and won’t be able to test it for a few months. Are you saying it won’t work?

If your car has a 3 wire cruise control system instead of a 4.... it won't work.
The cruise control stalks on 92-97 cars have 4 wires going to them. On newer cars like the 01+ IS300, the stalk only has 3.
I tried to put this on an IS300 and it didn't work at all. But it worked fine on my 97 SC300.
I am not certain it won't work; but people have said on FB that 98+ stalks are only 3 wire (like my IS300) and if that is true they are digital and this won't work with them. The buttons are analog

Well your 04 GS300 is probably identical to my 03 IS300. So it won't work.
To keep cruise you will have to trace the 3 wires to the main connector on the column (before the clockspring) and then find a place to mount the stalk. I guess a few people have mounted them to the dash panels. Then lengthen the 3 wires and connect them.
I don't think anyone has made custom buttons for Toyotas before. Because if they did, I'd think there'd be a better answer on my.IS than just detaching the stalk and moving it somewhere else
