94-95 SC400 stock 1/4 mile times???
anyone have an idea what they should run? I was thinking of buying one and want to know how fast they are and what kind of basic upgrades I could do to get it into the low 14's maybe high 13's I am not making this into a drag car or anything I just want a car that can hold it's own. I am selling my Turbo 240sx capable of running 12's and I dont want to step down to a much slower car but I want some luxury and RWD.

An unmodified SC300 5spd should run around 15.5- 15.0, perhaps a very high 14 with a great driver and stock wheels. larger wheels tires and other handling upgrades will hurt the ET. I ran a 15.2 with 17" wheels and an otherwise stock SC300.
Basic mods like exhaust, intake, fuel control may get a half second off, but upper 13s would take forced induction or some serious engine work - porting, cams, cam gears, valve springs, etc. The 2JZ will rev to 8k rpm with no problem if you do double valve springs and modify the ECU to remove the limiter. All people I know of running 13s or better on the SC are turboed.
As far as the SC400---torque convertor, ECU upgrade, intake, exhaust, LSD, some kind of fuel control (S-AFC) should get you close to high 13s.

i serve though dat site. it's real nice but da things cost tooooooo damn much. any body kno a "cheaper" site.
the computer chip they had how much hp does it add.
what is the most efficiant way to make the car go faster and where u can get it.
also if i wanted to "NOS" up the stock engine is it possible to go wit 90 shots. if not wut do i have to change. my 92 sc400 is a daily driven car so i'm thinking about the lonnnng run.
sorry i'm asking so many questions but it will be very helpful if i can find some answers.

SC4 92' - 97' has a range of 14.9 - 15.3...
SC3 has a range of 15.5 up(automatic) and 15.2 - 15.5(with manual). I've seen 15.1 in a 95' Motor Trend with 5spd comparison test against n/a Supra 14.7, n/a 300ZX 2+2 14.8 and M3 14.4.

I saw a 14.9 @ 94mph in Motortrend... never read the article tho; just saw the specs from it...
I got a 0-60 in 6.6s with my 17" rims and tires...
17" rims won't have anything to do with the 1/4 mile times at all unless they weigh a lot more than the stock rims... i've heard of the rim diameter theory and its been proven to be BS by lots of magazines...
as long as the overall diameter of the rim and tire sidewall isn't changed, then you'll be ok...
my 1/4 mile I ran on the gtech was a 15.7 at 72mph... so I'm pretty sure I could have hit a 15.0 if i hadn't have let out of it

92 SC400 - Bone stock w/ 17" aftermarket wheels, and a passenger and A/C on - DOHHHH!
15.4 @ 90.7mph was my best run of 3 (15.6 being the worst)
Mental note- turn off A/C
The wheels do make a difference - rarely do people use exact weight, exact outer diameter rims/tires as stock. Most people I know use lighter weight rims than stock, and bump up the tire size a little.
Now that I have a stiffer suspension, larger tires, and a TC. I'll run the car again. Then, When I finally find a stupid intake adaptor, I'll run it with a cold air box and see what that does.
If anyone knows where I can get the stinkin intake adaptor, let me know!
