Question Power side rear view mirrors don't work

1992 SC 400. Side rear view mirrors stopped working. Apparently no power to mirrors. Checked fuses, but they were not blown.

Any ideas/solutions???

Thanks

rad

If you've got a friend with an SC try swapping out your mirror ECU. Its under the driver's seat.

I just had my drivers seat apart the other day installing some new leather and i noticed the ecu under there. I thought that was just for the seat functions/memory itself. Never realized that controls the mirrors as well.... good to know.

The window issue sounds like the regulator is going out. Common issue unfortunately, do a search. There are some threads on here with a procedure to repair it yourself or you can PM Aliga or R&J Dist. They can sell you a nice used one.

mirror ecu is located under the dash not the seat.

Default mirror ecu

I had this problem and ALIGA solved it with a replacement ECU. It is under the dash and sort of in front of your right knee. Before I installed mine I plugged it in to the harness and just let it hang there. It worked so I pulled the dash apart and installed it. Aliga has helped me with a lot of problems and he has never been wrong. He responds quickly with good quality used parts.

Good luck

John

if you mirror doesn't work...then you need the mirror ECU box, which is located behind the radio and gauge cluster.....if you window doesn't work, then you will prob need the motor/regualtor assy.....

we got BOTH items in stock....thanks
