Taking off the shift lever... help. 93' SC400
I know there are two screws holding the shift lever on and they are under the plastic cover that is under the leather handle. In pictures I have seen this cover slides down to expose the screws. Not mine... it is rigid plastic with barely a vertical seam. I tried to split the seam thinking it snapped together and once unsnapped could me opened and removed. NOPE!!
Please help.

hey capt,
try it again. use little more force on it and easily you can access to the 2 screws.
here is picture ( from japanese soarer, but it's same.)
If you need more help, let me know.

i just took my eclipse 7301 head unit out today and the lever was easy to pull off. put the keys in the ignition and put the gear in neutral, but be sure to put your parking brake up. with a little force, slide down that plastic piece. you can't do it in park, because it only reveals one screw. taking out the dash is kinda easy after that. i hope this helps
