Default 7sec 0-60 so slow aahhh i can't take it

I just sold my modded BMW 325is 5spd, fastest car so far that I have had , I got 15sec flat on 1/4 mi with bad driving and constantly got low 6sec 0-60. That car was so much fun to drive, now its sold so im back to my 93 sc400 and it feels so slow compared to the bimmer
40mph and up yes I can definitely feel the punch in the sc400 but from 0-60 car just feels like its lagging. I think it’s the transmission on my sc400 that is a problem; I think the gearing is way too wide for a good off the line performance. so there is no real hope for faster 0-60 times with stock transmission. I think I will just have to give up on making this car fast what you all think?
I get 7.2 0-60 and 15.4 1/4 mi with gtech

1993 Lexus SC400 146,000 , BFI, exhaust and mid mufflers removed.

UPDATE:
1After my quest for more power I have seafomed top of the engine 3 times, plenty of smoke.
2 Went to an exhaust shop and got 2 resonators/mufflers removed from rear of the car.
3Also did an ECU reset .
NOw a few days later Im amazed at the results. Car feels quicker of the line and does not bog down like it did before, I even spin my 235/45/17 tires of the line!
I tested my results with G-tech and got numbers better than any previous in my 4 years of owning my SC. I got 6.52 in 0-60MPH so far. This is almost a half a second faster than my best previous time where I had 6.9 0-60mph best.
So so far I am very impressed that I did somethign that made my car quicker.

I think you have not yet unleashed your car's potential.

Well, for a 400 I've seen many members gain close to 30-40 hp to the ground just by doing cat-back exhaust, bfi, and a tuned s-afc. That alone will only run you about 400-500 dollars. Then once you get an lsd on it you'll be stomping on that 325is. I can murder my friends 325is 5spd with exhaust, intake, and performance chip with my auto SC300 with exhaust intake alone, plus i havent had the time to have my s-afc installed and tuned yet.

Well I already have a BFI and Exhaust on my sc400 but still manage 7sec fastest i ever got the car, where compared to the 325 i had it up to 6.2 0-60. I had that 325 dynoed and I got 174hp to the wheels and with a lighter car of only 3,000lb I doubt that an sc400 will have any chance of a catch up.
SAFC sounds like a very good mod for the money, I might be doing that soon here if I can find one cheap enough.
Also I hate the heatsoak or whatever its called, After a few hard runs I can defenetly notice the car slowing down of the line. What is the cause of this? Maybe oil cooler in transmision will help?

Yea i know man , 325 is sopose to be slower then sc400 stock for stock, but my 325 had a head rebuild and previos owner might of changed cams or something because that thing was much faster then stock . that 325 will kill my sc400, I raced a 99 740i with the 325 and killed him preaty bad probably 4-5 cars up to 90. RAced a g35 with my lexus and got beat preaty good on a highway but raced the same g35 on a highway with 325 and we were dead even.

Does the Torque Converter allow you to just mash the gas/floor it from a dead stop without breaking anything? and getting a good 0-60? What are the bad things about getting the torque converter?

something tells me G35 was different or something, Alex Trusov.

The Sedan should be about same as your 325, but a coupe should pull on ya.

Well maybe thats why but I doubt it. It was a 2003 sadan 4dr auto G35 with aftermarket intake, sadan vs coupe they should be almost identical. How do I know? I raced a 350z auto vs 325 and we were dead even up to 75mph. How did you know my name anyway?

torque converter can be used safely without fear of breakin anything, install a tranny cooler for added insurance.

an sc400 w/ TC, lower gear rear end and basic I/E/SAFC should be a decent car to get up and go.

In a sense yes. The torque converter is basically the clutch for an automatic car. Oem TC's are set at very low rpm stalls for comfort reasons. Lexus wanted a comfortable ride and not a harsh one. The performance TC's like the PI dragon TC or the rebuilt one by Lextreme (i believe) has a higher set stall speed which is basically similar to someone dumping the clutch at that rpm range on a manual transmision. From what i've heard it doesn't really help a whole lot, plus unless you know what your doing, it'll cost you an arm and a leg to just install the thing. I was quoted nearly 600 dollars just for installation on my SC3. I would say the best way to quicken your ride would be a LSD.
