Going for class
For me, the SC300 lended itself quite well to procrastination. Since the car has been very reliable, and quite respectable in stock form, i've lagged on finishing my car's build for almost a year now.
My original money pit was my FD, and I had purchased an NA FC3S to be the daily driver. Unfortunately I started modifying that too. Eventually I wound up owning a series of cars that were supposed to be daily drivers, ending in the SC300. Now i'm looking for a daily driver so I can finally complete my SC.
Class, with a little bit of sass.
Re-upholster interior to new condition - 80% Have Parts, haven't installed.
Re-upholster steering wheel - 80% Have Parts, haven't installed.
Tint - 99% Appointment scheduled
Recondition Trim - 80% Have Parts, haven't installed
Refresh Aero (97 rear + sides) - 80% Have Parts, havent installed
Paint Car - 0% Need to make an appointment
Restore Gauges - 0% Need to remove send to O.L.T.
OEM HID retro - 80% Have Parts, haven't installed
Carputer with GPS, everything - 80% Have Parts, haven't installed.
Restore suspension/bushings - 80% Have Parts, haven't installed.
Performance suspension - 95% Coilovers, stabilizers, just need corner balance
BFI - 80% Have Parts, haven't installed
Wheels - 0% Like a girl, can never have enough
NA-T - 10% Have spare 2JZ-GE head, need other parts
Exhaust - 100% Only got installed because the engineers at work wanted to test it
Wash Car - 20% Only done when I have to, lag because my car is far from completion
It's almost there, it's just a matter of getting off my butt to do it.
I'd say another year. When finished, the car will be back to it's former glory, and then some. It'll handle well, and it'll be respectably fast, and hopefully just as reliable. The SC put my wallet on a diet...but it's been worth it for the most part.
In retrospect I could have had a downpayment on an IS350 by now, but the SC is a car that i've always wanted, and will always have a love affair with.

Im going for drag/drift/gymkana/touge and daily driving. I'm going VIP style with my car. Black leather interior, midnight black paint, 18" work deep dish wheels. (I got different rims for playing)

ive ownd 6 240's s13 and s14 alike. spent way to much money, i made some i lost some. im going for class now, 97 front with vertex lip sides and rear, some works, and 2jzgte bar legal swap

I voted for option 3. I want my Lexus to be fast and have power when I want it. But yet, luxurious and elegant at the same time. Im just facinated with sport luxury cars such as the Mercedes SL600 and S600, BMW's M6, and a couple others that fall into that same category. My goal is to just be up there with my one of a kind Lexus.

ive gotta say class...MY sc 400 is quick enough as is...i dont really need or want a car (cause id probably die) that can do a 0 -60 in 3 seconds....anyways ive got a few pioneer tv's in it a decent little system nothing obnoxious and planning to paint it like a black cherry mica and then put my giovanni 19" rims on it and thats it...I got SO LUCKY to find an sc that was owned by an elderly couple and the interior is more or less perfect I love my car and ya know when you have a car as beautiful as the SC why drive so fast...you need to let people see the car and see you in it.. think i might actually make my car slower lmao
