i believe the MDX antenna is $39

www.locustom.com

i probably would have liked the MDX angle a bit better, but in person, my antenna looks to flow pretty good

either way, no "up and down" noises!!!!

Not sure how much it would cost to have the antenna hole shaved, but make sure it is welded if done.

awesome, thankyou

i never listen to radio, but i'll be sure to pick this up sometime

I was just getting ready ready to order the mdx ,then decided to think about this idea. Unplug the antenna, usdrew the mast assembly, remove both parts, cut a circular peice of gold stripeing tape and cover the hole on the outside of the quarter panel, then if it looks better than the mast, get the hole filled and painted. Then look for a 12v. remote mount antenna.

after driving around and staring at this Shark Attack for a couple days, i must say it starts to bother me, the angle that is (the reception is great)....

so I have emailed locustom(extremely helpful and prompt) to try and swap out for the MDX antenna, if this isn't possible, when the car goes to the body shop next week, i'm getting it shaved and putting an interior antenna in....

chanh55 - does the MDX cover up your hole well, and does it seal all the way around?

It seals the hole great, the hole isn't that big. Go to lowes or something to get a large washer to help anchor it better and some rubber washer things to help keep water out.

if your talking to me, i have no tint, just a dark garage...

update on antenna, like i said before, great guy at locustom, offered to refund me if I wasnt happy with antenna, he did suggest I clock the antenna (turn it so it isn't directly vertical) and this helped the degree at which is stuck out and I am much happier with it now, I am going to keep it on there until I get it shaved....
