Default New car- 1997 Lexus SC300

1997 Lexus SC300
64,000 miles

I've had it for about 2 weeks, and already modded it a little:

Injen Intake
Eibach Springs (1" drop)
18" 3000GT VR4 wheels (18x8.5" with 255-40zr18 tires)
Cross Drilled / Slotted rotors
6000K HID's
Tint (20% up front, 15% rears)
JIC Dual Exhaust is on the way

And I got rid of the "Gold package" garbage- I painted the emblems gloss black

I'm pleased with the looks and performance of the car with those mods... for now After all, it does have a 2JZ motor, and it's definately got some pretty good potential with a bolt on turbo kit, or even a full turbo 2JZ swap. That will eventually happen, but she'll probably be NA for at least a few more months.

Question- anyone know if there's a front lip available for a 97 sc300? I've seen them for the 92-96, but does anyone make a lip for the 97+?

I used to have a 95 3000GT VR-4 that ran 11.70 @119 mph- but I definately want to eventually be faster than that with the SC300. Let me know what you guys think of the new car...

-Allen

I thought they only made the injen intake for 92-95 models....did you have to make any modifications to make it work?

I wasn't able to use the adapter, but I still used both black silicon couplers, 4 clamps, the heat shield, and the air filter. Check out the pics... I basically clamped the pipe and the filter / heat shield to the MAF- it's been on for two weeks with no problems. It's really secure and tight, doesn't leak either. Let me know what you guys think.

To sum things up... yes- you can install an injen intake on a 97 sc300 It may not have the cool polished filter adapter, but it's got everything else. Here are some pics:

The car looks like it's in great shape...

the VR4 rims aren't my thing, but hey, whatavah

can someone explain to me how the Injen intake does anything posative? It's practically right over the exhaust manifold.
