The rear seats dont really weigh that much, but mine were weak and smelled bad so I jetisoned them.

Got the car corner balanced..

Subject: 98 SC400
Results: 3540 lbs fully loaded (body weight already subtracted)

Weight contributing factors:
W58
PPE headers
Smaller Bosch battery
Mishimoto radiator (more fluid?)
TT wheels
TT brakes
Gixxer Drew
2.25" piping with resonator delete
10" kicker on deck
Small amp
CD changer removed
Momo steering wheel
1/4 tank of gas

Everything else is in factory presence.

I was really hoping to be under 3400 lbs :roll eyes:
Maybe a set of corbeaus and carbon fiber might get me there...

I took my stock non-heated power driver seat and weighed it... 70lbs. I replaced it with a Corbeau A4 and slider which weighed 36 lbs... That represents a 34lb savings, almost half the stock seat! That's even before I rip apart the wiring that controls the seat!

Gutting my car for road racing. Does anyone know what the stock gas tank weighs? I'm also thinking about making my own carbon or fiberglass trunk, hood and doors. I've never made body parts, but definitely won't be spending $3k. What about sheet metal door attached to tubing? Or just gutting the doors, if it would save enough weight. Does anyone know the weight of a completely gutted door?

Here's weights of a few things:
Power sunroof complete-35lbs
AC/heater under dash- 35lbs
Rear seats upper/lower- 34lbs
AC Compressor-16.5lbs
SC300 ABS unit-11lbs
Stock steering column, portion inside the car-20lbs
Stock Gas tank-25lbs

I'm looking to get the car to 2600-2700 without a cage and under 3,000 with a cage, driver and gas.

You'll be driving with your hood flopping everywhere and making some metal to metal noises.

Go carbon seibon hood or stock

Full size spare 40.2 pounds (not sure how accurate this scale is)

Name: IMG_20140115_115026_336.jpg
Views: 2595
Size: 82.4 KB

Now for the next part my scale dosnt read anything under like 30 pounds so i couldn't get individual numbers for each item.

But this little bundle weighed at 37 pounds

Name: IMG_20140115_115715_141.jpg
Views: 2612
Size: 82.3 KB

Consisted of the following:
-all carpet panels from trunk, except panel covering gas tank
-all foam pads that are in trunk
-stock amp
-factory phome reciever box (in trunk)
-2 front tow hooks (removed only because of FMIC)
-cruize control module with cable
-backseat floormats

I did not have the factory CD changer or factory jack+tools so i don't know how much xtra im saving from those

Il post up more numbers as i weigh things.
