I bet your one of those guys with a LEXUS key chain thinking these cars are soooo high end. I love my sc but I dont consider is a luxury car. I think its has the poorest interior in its class. Ive seen toyota with nicer interior options and layouts. But your right to each its own.
Hey man, I appreciate your comments, but I disagree with you about your statement that the interior is the poorest in its class... I think the interior is great, and refined. It was made to be more of a luxury cruiser than a sports car. But, I am hybridizing mine to be the best of both worlds...

BTW, I think CF looks good on the car, and mine happens to be black.

I don't know of any competitor to the SC in '92 that provided a higher level of quality and luxury for a comparable price. I believe that still held true in 2000. But, to say you'd trade your '92 SC3 for a new '04 G35 coupe is kind of silly. Who wouldn't?
Now to compare the G35 to other cars in it's current segment, such as the IS300, it would undoubtedly seem to be the better buy. Any magazine comparison puts the G35 on top for it's combination of performance and refinement for the price. However, I've heard far too many concerns about the quality of Nissan/Infiniti vehicles since the Renault buyout. Several magazine long-term test reports, in reference to the G35 and 350Z, support these concerns. Being able to match the price of the Lexus now, doesn't mean much if it's going to incur thousands of dollars of repair costs in the next 1-2 years.
Well, I for one, would not trade my 93 SC400 for the G35. I happen to drive my SC because I like it better than just about anything out there. I don't drive my SC because I can't afford a new car. I just like it that much. I have always loved this car, that is why I bought one. And, if anybody wants to make a comparison of the Lexus SC to any of the new gen sports coupes out today, then they should compare them to the SC430. That would be more appropriate. Incidentally, the SC430 is growing on me, but I still like the SC400 better. Who knows, maybe I will buy a SC430 as well next year, but probably not. I prefer the NSX.

I like your post. I share your sentiments. I thought about selling my sc to get a g35. I went to the dealer to get a hard look at the g35. Several cars had orange peel paint. The seams were not as tight as ours. The interior though nice has a sort of cheap feel. The seats feel okay. The rear end doesn't flow with the rest of the car. Also inspected the RX8. Bottom line is I don't like either of these or any other car out there well enough to give up my SC for. I still like the G35 and I am trying to decide between it and a GS. Either way the SC will be sitting right next to whichever I choose.
