From the looks of the components you want to use, it looks like you're off to a great start.

I too wanted to use the Xenarc touch sensitive screen for something like this. But I could never figure out how to also keep the AM/FM portion of the stereo. Do you have something in mind or are you going to forgo that and just stick to CD's and MP3's?

For now just CD's and MP3s, but they make AM/FM tuner cards for PCs, so if I really feel the need I can get one of those. Or go with satelitte radio down the road.

I have absolutely no clue what most of that stuff is - but I give you mad props for taken this task upon yourself. Please keep us updated as I for one would like to see the final outcome.

Will do

The custom sub enclosure in the trunk is going to take the most time, followed by molding in the screen.

Actually yeah I'd be really interested to see how you go about fitting the screen! What are the specs on it? I haven't heard of the brand before so I wouldn't know hehehe... 7" I thought that was always going to be a hassle in our cars, I assumed 5.6" was the go?

Alright! Another carputer going into an SC! I just finished my install. I'll be starting another thread on it. It looks very similar to my setup. I ended up going with the Lilliput over the Xenarc due to the $$ difference. So far so good. I'm happy with it. Keep us all updated.

Yeah, I ended up getting the Xenarc for only $357 shipped, so I figured whyt not.

Yeah, I know I need the GPS unit as well, trying to fit it into my budget .
