Default gassy smell in the car!

no pun intended... i'm getting a very strong fuel smell from inside the cabin. after several hours of driving or idling, there is a smell of gas that seems to leak into the interior... the only way i've been able to clear it up is by putting the a/c on and letting it recircle the air in the cabin. i've checked the gas tank for any punctures...(none found,)and there is no smell of gas in the trunk... anyone have any ideas?

Funny off topic, I see a new beatdown SC with rims on it, everytime I come to Bk no lie!! LOL

When you change the fuel filter (under the driver's side of the car right before the rear wheel well) make sure to get a can to catch the gas runing out of the fuel line. I didn't have one when I changed my fuel filter a couple of months ago and lemme tell you...laying on your back and having gas running down your arm and body is NOT a good feeling. Have a can for the gas. Just FYI.

Well i had the same problem , seems a silicone wire came loose in the back, if you like right dead middle of your engine the rear of the engine there is a silicone wire that leads gasoline exhaust to the tank check that , i did it was disconnected and now no more problems

I had a similar problem, turned out there was a vapor hose or maybe an overflow hose that did not make it out of the car, and unloaded vapor into the car, ended up tearing the trunk apart and putting the hose back no problems since

hard to explain if I'm not making sense

Default Fuel leak on top of engine

Source of gas smell for me was a fuel leak from a spot at the top of the engine, driver's side. It's some kind of a top-hat-looking little device, don't know what it is or does but it sometimes leaks fuel. I'm off to the shop rigth now to get it fixed. But if you ahve a smell of gas, I suggest you look at this as a possible cause.
