Default Instrument Cluster Digital Meter converion?

any updates on this conversion in US? (digital meter on our sc) I remember it was impossible to do this conversion but one guy in Japan actually done this before (well now his soarer 2.5GT-T AT has SC instrument cluster.) He said it's not easy at all but I'm curious if anybody in US has done this by now.

Does anybody have any extra SC instrument cluster that you want to sell? (maybe MT). some guys in Japan want to try this conversion on his soarer. I dont think I ever seen actual SC300 MT instrument cluster. do you have any pictures? I wanna see the difference. THX

Lexus to Soarer is fairly easy. Soarer to Lexus might as well be impossible. $5k in sensors and wiring and computer to be worked with.

This would explain the lack of response from ALSOC regarding a possible cluster swap or a Soarer gage cluster spare for R & D purposes. They apparently have already tried this, as the Aussies have done more mods to these cars than we have.

As long as you don't get caught with having a Km/h reading by the authorities I beleive that you would be able to use this if you are doing a Soarer 2.5 Swap (1JZ-GTE). With some front cuts the instrument cluster is included, and all the wiring and ECUs are included, so it should work. Doono why no one thought of this before.

you think if someone identified all the wires and their functions of an sc cluster, cut and wire them up to the soarer harness it'll work??

No, because the signal sent is totally different. But if we have a ECU that interfaces with the digital cluster (any from a soarer) we would not need to hook up the cluster to the 2JZ-GE ecu which is unable to drive it.

Yes. Street legal means that it qualifies with emissions standards. So basically if you are doing a soarer to sc swap then you could also swap in this cluster because it connects right to the ECU.

When you are doing an engine swap from a front cut you get everything you need to make the engine work. Some front cuts will include this cluster. Normally people cut up the harness and put it in conjunction with the US 2JZ-GE ECU to drive air conditioning, etc. But people leave the US cluster in there hooked up to one of the ECUs. What you will need to do is plug the cluster directly into the ECU that came with the front cut, because that ECU is essencially going to be running the engine, so it makes sense to have it driving the digital cluster also instead of splicing up the harness to have the US ECU drive the US cluster.

A front clip from any soarer with this type of cluster should work. Most people opt for a 2.5TT clip that has the 1JZ-GTE engine. Before you order check if it includes everything. During installation you will ahve to splice up the harness to include the US ECU to run your A/C.
