Just curious but why would anyone want to put that cluster in an SC. I know it;s all in the eye of the beholder but don't our clusters look a lot better. And I can tell ya that after OLT fixes your cluster you would never want the digital one.
Also I lived in Australia for a while and if you think that our clusters can be hard to see in the day you should see some of these digital ones when they get some years on them

just curious since i am looking to do a complete 1jzgte swap which will include a jdm ecu, how is controlling ac going to be affect if at all by the ecu and also would i still be able to use the regular needle cluster with the jdm ecu? if i was to get a usdm ecu for the swap instead, what ecu should i get?

Aren't you still supposed to splice a few cables into the old 2jz-ge ecu? Some of those cables are for the AC, etc.

i dunno, thats why im asking...lol. plus if i do the 1jzgte swap, a 2jz ecu will be out of of the equation unless you are talking about one of the many interior ecus?

Nope. The 2jz ecu should still be used for controlling things like the A/C. Ask someone who has done the swap if they used a 2jz ecu.

makes some sense, i know guys with hondas that use 1.6 ecus on their 1.8s. but now would it be better to use a 2jzgte or will a 2jz ge suffice? or could one just use an aem?

You don't use a different ECU, you use two ECUs, one for the engine/cluster (1jz) and one for the A/C (2jz).

screw a/c, so yer saying that after the engine is swapped all i need is the 1jz ecu and digital instrument cluster from a soarer front clip to have the digital display work properly, all you really need to know is 80kmh is about 55mph and 180kmh is about 120mph

Yeh.. if you think about it JDM dash connects to the JDM ECU. So if you just ignore all of the USDM electonics then it will work.

HotBoy,
They're not that bad... just as long as they've had a thorough cleaning (quite like the headlights on our Soarer/SC)... oh IMO the factory yellowish-green of the digital cluster makes me wanna puke lol

Here's my digital cluster... had a thorough clean inside and out (makes a BIG difference let me tell ya...) oh yeah, that dust you see in this pic is on the outside lol hehehehhe

Yes my car needs a wash... it's filthy
