Okay here is the 90% finished install. I think I might bond/glue the pod to the pillar and then have a shop cover the whole thing in black vinyl. The little edge doesn't bug me that bad and its only really noticalbe from the second pic because of the angle.

Anyhow I hope this info helps. My girl should be running this weekend. I hope
The 4inch to dual 3.5 is gonna take a day and the oil catch can and other small things are taking a bit longer as well.

These are impressive installs.

my question is how the hell did you guys route the boost hose into the cabin of the car from the engine. Im having the hardest time trying to find a grommet or auxillary hole to route my boost tubing and other guage wires thru.

One of the benifits of using the Defi's is that they are all electronic. So in your case the boost control sensor is attached to a long thin cable with a very very small connector. That connector is easily passed into the cabin. In my case all of my gauge sensor cables are passed through the factory loom and into the cabin via the large boot in the firewall. If you unbolt the boot and take out the foam peice you should be able to get a few good sized cables past it. So I unbolted it, grabbed a really really large screwdriver and slid it into the boot from the firewallside towards the passenger compartment to make a bit of room for a small length of coat hanger to act as a fish. Cables went in no problem. Every single connector on a Defi setup is a different pin configuration and color so that even if you tried you'd be hard pressed to mess it up.

you can route wires on the passenger side upper frame hole, the wires will go under the fender lining into the cabin.

There's a guy on the rx7 forum that makes custom DIN plates, if you guys are interested, he can cut and logo it to whatever you like.

Just go to rx7club.com and search on DIN plates.

can you hide the guages in the cigarette location retaining the plastic piece that opens and closes so you can hide it? I plan to do the boost and afr guage there and maybe a trans temp or something else in the cup holder.

As soon as I get my SC back from the shop (it's been over four weeks now!), I am planning to mount my gauges in the glovebox using the wedge shaped rings that Autometer makes (VDO makes them too). The rings fit behind the gauge so you angle it towards you. I bought a sheet of carbon fiber on eBay to use as the filler panel.

TM Engineering sells ABS plastic sheets too by the way.
