Default Rear Bumper Removal

Need help. Would like to remove my rear bumper. Have a baseball size ding (parking lot), have it repaired, and re-install myself. Any photos or diagrams? Hate to tie up vehicle in shop for 2 weeks.
Thanks, Bob

LOL and welcome to the Club.

I am aware of how to do it, but unfortunately, I won't be able to get to anything remotely showing how to do it until later today (work). I won't be taking the bumper off, but can show where to look for the bolts screws to do it.

Thanks Lexmex. I really appreciate you taking the time. I'm just trying to save a few bucks on my wife's car. Also on a corvette formum and all of us always help each other.

Bob,

Stick around, I am about to put up the photos of the locations of what you need to know, but if you still have questions let me know. The service manual doesn't show it any better (just a simple diagram, and you need to try to figure it out.

I love Vettes, one of my buddies drives an 06 Z06, absolutely phenomenal, shown here, http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3114969

Bear with me as I it's going to take me a bit of time to post all the photos and write everything as best as possible.

We'll start here inside the vehicle. Open up the rear hatch and also the area where the spare tire would be (I've removed mine here for clarity). This is right on top of the bumper.

You will find 4 holes (2 on the driver's side and 2 on the passenger side (passenger side shown in previous photo). And each hole has one of these, which I believe can be accessed with 10mm or 3/8ths extension socket (that's what the size appears to be).

Now go underneath the rear bumper outside the vehicle and you will find these. I removed the bolts here a long time ago and tucked the tabs shown underneath (pushing them backward) underneath the bumper. Unsure of the size here, but probably a 10mm or 3/8ths. There's just two of them.

Now let's take a look by the wheel wells. You'll notice on mine I don't have the rear side marker lights they were removed back in this thread, https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx3...e-markers.html

However, let's start by looking at a few locations of some other bolts.

First location here,

And yes, my RX does need a wash, we've had some rain here.

You'll find two screws (these are ones that my family back in Mexico put in after we took the bumper off a previous time). I am going to assume they will be 10mm or 3/8ths.

There you will find 3 small hex key screws (I am not sure on the size offhand).
