I actually need to replace my 2011 radio and I found a good deal on a whole 2013 unit - I know its an updated radio, but will it work in my 2011? (I have GPS in the 2011, and the 2013 supports GPS - Will I need a new GPS module too?)

Any input would be appreciated ... Thanks!

OP, THIS THREAD from last month references a RX that had a 2014 Nav (and therefore, I suspect the head unit) replaced in a 2010 by the dealer. I'd therefore suspect it's possible to do with your model years... but, IMHO you are not yet going to find many people that have done this -- let alone instructions. It's not yet common given how relatively new the 2013-15 RX still is, to find a lot of DIY on things like swapping electronic components that are known to be different between MYs like this. Issue perhaps to watch out for is the head unit was replaced with an updated version in 2013 models, and to what degree that causes differences between the 2010-12's I can't say. If you pursue the task, I know folks would appreciate an update to this thread with your progress. It would definitely help someone else one day. Good luck.
