Default Contacts, phone lost on NAV Upgrade

Hi, I had my 2010 RX450h upgraded to the 2014 NAV today. I verified that it had been performed and found that all phone personalization so and contacts had been wiped as well as any entered and saved destinations. Lexus says that is normal.

I will rebuild everything, but wonder if the settings are lost and if so, whether the tech could have saved the settings and put them back.

Thanks!

As Lexus said, it's normal with a NAV upgrade. But it shouldn't be too hard to reload your phone and contacts. You'll also have to re-enter any saved address's. The upgrades usually only add any new road changes that have occurred and that's why I never bought one.

I doubt very much if the settings could have been saved and restored. The 3rd Gen 2013 mid-life refresh (which would also be on the 2014) came with a new head unit and expanded capabilities (like Apps) than the original 3rd Gen (2010-12) had. Personally, I don't see why Lexus would spend money building a save/restore/migration tool for something like head units that are not replaced very often -- let alone moving to new variations that are not standard with a specific MY.

I suggest you just continue updating your settings as you planned, and enjoy!
