Default DVD Headrest

I had the Rear seat entertainment system in my RX. It was nice. But for the price you pay. You could get iPads. And be able to use them in any car or house.

Yeah, the cost and hassle to find a vehicle that comes OEM with the RSES isn't worth it. DVDs are dinosaurs now. I just took one of our Galaxy Tab 7" tablets and velcro'd that to headrest. I had to run cords so that it could be plugged in/charging, but the sound links up via Bluetooth, so it's a good solution for us. (on my GX)

I have a joy factory headrest mount for my iPad. It works amazingly well. I don't need it in the car often, but for the times I take the kids with me on longer trips I just snap my iPad in and go. It also pairs perfectly with the car so I can pause and start the movie they are watching whenever I want and the sound also comes out of the speakers so I control the volume.

Thanks for the post- please update it when you finish the install. I still see the value of DVDs nowadays, with Netflix/Redbox. We stock up on DVDs from the library prior to long trips; saves me a lot of time trying to burn them onto their tablets.

There in. They work great. the installer ran into an issue when installing them. He called me over when he thought it was done and when he went to start the car it wouldnt. It took him a while and he also had to call his boss. his boss told him that lexus cars are different he had tapped into the ignition wires like he said he always does but the RX gave him trouble. He ended up tapping into the power outlet in center console. I took a drive with the fam and my kids were in heaven. They each brought their favorite movies and they were golden. The cool part is if you buy a blueray they usually come with the regular dvd as a bonus so works out great the blueray for home and the dvd for the car.
