Our first RX was a 2008 CPO with 14k miles which we sold at 100k with absolutely 0 issues with the car the entire time we owned it. We just got a 2013 CPO with 12k miles which is now up to 20k miles and so far no issues either. I'm big on value and I just can't justify the depreciation when I can save a few thousand getting a year or 2 older and still having the same body style as the current model. This time it took us 2 months to find the exact color and package my wife wanted but it was worth the wait. It's true that the resale in a few years will be less since it's a couple years older than if you bought a 2015 now, but you also save buying the older model so you're not actually get less for the car vs. what you paid.

I have a friend that won't even look at CPO's and always buys new and that makes him happy. To each his own but I'd def say CPO is worth a look.

Two of my three RXs were used/CPOs and no regrets. In the majority of cases, I'd buy a CPO over new to avoid the first two-year depreciation hit for that model/gen I want.

However, we are in an exceptional time where '15 RX prices have never been so low. "Blame" the NX and the upcoming '16 RX, but it's a perfect time for the buyer to get a new RX for just a little more.

Depends too on how long you keep the vehicle. I always buy new but I tend to keep my cars at least 10 years so the depreciation isn't as big a factor in the ownership costs. You have to ask yourself if the money you are saving is worth it. With a car like a Lexus whos resale value is better than most I think buying new is the way to go in the long run.

Our first Lexus was a CPO and the experience has been great. We have a 2010 RX that only had 17K miles on it as a local trade. After a year we have had no issues, just basic service expense. Our Lexus dealer treats us very well even though its a "used" car. I agree on saving some money with a CPO and put it towards something else.
