Default Loose Brake pedal arm

I have a 2014 RX350 and the brake pedal rattles when I use it. It seems to be loose at the pivot point way up under that dash but I can't get to it. Has anyone else had this problem. It seems to have excessive movement side to side otherwise it works as it should.

Thanks
Mike

On my 2013 RX450h, I have no rattle sound under normal operating and driving conditions. I did just go out and try to move the brake pedal side-to-side with my hand while the RX is off -- it moves perhaps 1/8" or a tad bit more to the right and left if measured from the sides of where the pedal normally resides, but that's all. That is not a problem for me.

Well I think mine is definitely different from yours. I'll probably end up taking it back to the dealer, problem is the nearest one is a two hour drive one way.

Thanks for checking yours and for the reply.

Go to a local Toyota dealer & have it checked out, worth the service fee in my mind. Don't mess with it. Turns into an issue get Lexus to repair it.
Could be an improperly installed bushing or fastener.

I have the same issue, see my thread here: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-...ake-pedal.html.

Mentioned it to my dealer twice already, they always check and tell me it's normal. In case you get your dealer to fix it for you, please gather all the information you can get and post it here, such as TSB (if applicable), parts names and numbers, etc.

Thanks

Can't resist. Why would you want to "lose" your break pedal arm?

Yes I will, I found another thread on it and seems many have this same problem so I doubt anything has been done yet. I looked at mine under the dash (oh my aching back lol) and it seems that the upper pivot is tight, but the arm that hooks to the brake lever driving the break master cylinder is too loose side to side. (see I got loose spelled right this time..lol) and an additional spacer seems like it would solve the problem. I am not going to do it myself though as it is still under warranty.
I may take it down to the Toyota dealer to look at it since my Lexus dealer is two hours away. I hate the cheap sound it makes and this is the third RX I have had, none of my other RX's did this. The 2014 seems noisier on the highway too. Wonder if Lexus is loosing some quality in the build in an effort to shore up profit? Sure seems like it anyway.
