Default Rear AC or DC power for 2011 RX 450h?

My 2011 RX 450h does not have an power outlet near the rear seats. I have only the DC jacks inside the center console, the "under tray" one, and the "luggage compartment" one.

The rear of my center console is blank.

Can the optional AC outlet be added afterwards for a reasonable cost? How about a DC outlet? The kids in the back seat need to charge their devices!

In a perfect world every seat would have a USB jack

Thanks!

Well, you can certainly create a perfect world. An AC inverter to get 5V DC USB output would be an overkill.
You can plug in a cig lighter USB power outlet in the trunk, add a splitter to it and run a bunch of USB extension cords between the rear seats. Each kid will get their own. Done.

Yeah, but I don't want to take my nice shiny Lexus and turn it ghetto by having cables all over the place.

The omission of a DC outlet on the rear of the console is a bit strange to me, especially given that my ex-wife's 2004 RX has one.

BTW, you and I share concerns about torque steer. We seem to be the only ones!

Putting tha DC outlet in the console has probably annoyed more RX owners than anything else.
Why don't you run an extension from the one under the tray to the back. Just run the cable between the seat and the console. It won't be that noticeable.
