Has anyone put OEM LS brake calipers on our front RX's? I know they will probably require an adapter bracket but I have been searching and haven't seen anyone do it or a kit for it.

The LS calipers are larger and 4 piston versus our ugly 2 piston.

Any help is appreciated.

People driving an RX are not the type to swap calipers.
Not sure what is ugly about stock ones.
M3 calipers look great, yet are 1-pots!

I could see where the OP is coming from, sometimes I wished I had much better stopping power.

Patrick, welcome to the forum. But I have to say that's an odd question for a 1st post in the RX rooms, it's just not that type of car. Maybe someone will bite but it's not the type of mod RX drivers would ordinarily go for.

You could try replacing the factory ceramic pads, (probably Akebono) which are designed to be quiet and low dust at the expense of braking performance for something like EBC Green Stuff or Supreme pads which are the opposite or the Power Stop Z23 higher performance pads. Those appear to be the only higher performance pads I could locate quickly. My old favorites, Hawk and Performance Friction, do not make them for our vehicle. I'm sure someone has tried.
Check in one or more Toyota forums. RX running gear, I believe, is basically the same as a Highlander.
Caliper clearances on the OEM wheels might/might not be an issue.
What are/were you running for brakes on the Camaros ?
More stopping power is always welcome.
My old Skylark was manual drums when I bought it.
Job # 1 - add a power brake vacuum booster, made quite a difference.
Job # 2 - add discs in front, made a huge difference.
Job #3 - convert rear drums to disc. Sold the car, didn't ever get to it.

I'm not an expert on brakes, but I would think the anti-lock brake system would limit the braking power of the disc rotors and pads. In other words, no matter how hard you press on the brake pedal, the anti-lock feature will release and re-apply at the skidding point.

Yea, the whole system is balanced for the car as it was manufactured.

No expert here either. I'm thinking the ABS would continue to prevent wheel lock-up based on wheel speed.
Sound right ?

wheel speed is part of the factors ABS accounts for. There is an ABS sensor at each hub that monitors a tone ring on each axle. The ABS computer monitors and determines slippage when the brake pedal is pressed and determines which brake to modulate more/less.

I have been looking at the toyota forums and Supra turbo forums. On the supra a they have used LS calipers and report a drastic difference.

I in no way push my RX hard enough to maximize the braking but this is something I got in my head and it look like I might be the first to at least post about here but I'm sure someone has plunked the $2000-$4000 for aftermarket Brembos for their RX. For a non-race car it doesn't make sense. For a few hundred to have 4 piston up front, not a bad deal using great quality OEM parts.

On a modern car, unless you're running endurance road courses, factory OEM components are plenty.
Braking technology has come light years ahead in the last 20-30 years.
