I got rid of mine at a little more than two years/16K miles. They were losing traction.

Well Anita, you swayed me I picked up the 2015 RX 350 with the Silver, black interior, and 19" wheels!Leasing a 2015 this week, 18 inch or 19 inch wheels?-img_0204.jpg

I bought a silver lining RX with the 19" Dunlops also.

I took my RX in for service shortly after buying it and received a loaner with Michelins and couldn't believe the difference! They were so much quieter and smoother riding. When I turned in the loaner I asked the dealer to swap out the tires. They didn't hesitate but charged me $50/tire to transfer the pressure sensors they said.

I would definitely recommend you do the same.

Nice looking RX! Did you get yours in the Chicagoland area? Just picked up a 6000 mile black/black last friday in Schaumburg. Our local Lexus dealer here in central Illinois didn't have enough selection.

I've only had it a day, so I haven't noticed. It's my first RX with 19 inch wheels. I have leased them all with smaller wheels. I suspect there is a bit of ride difference just because they are 19's.

Did the loaner have 18's ? I guess my main concern will be getting 36,000 miles out of them. I would hate to have to buy tires then turn the car in. My dealer/lexus has been pretty lenient on turn in, but I have always re-leased. I most likely will walk away after this one so it may be a problem.

My dealer's policy is not to switch out tires and I was told that up front.

On the positive side, the Dunlops are one of the cheaper tires. It won't hurt as much if you have to replace them. Let's hope you don't have to. BTW, the rims look really sharp.

Looks very nice! Excellent color combo choices, along with getting the premium 19 inch wheels.
As for your goal of 36,000 miles on the Dunlops. We had no trouble reaching that on our previous Rx, and could have got into the 40's if not for an alignment issue. As per usual, keep a close watch on tire pressure, rotations, balance and alignment. Also check your tire and alignment warranties, which are easy to overlook, for future possible use.

I'm glad you went with 19. A little late but for me, we came from previous gen with 18 which we loved it. When we test drove the new one (since it first came out) we always felt it was too soft to the point that we got dizzy after driving it for awhile no matter how long or short we kept the loaner/demo. I could not figure out why but later found out that the new 18 has more rubber than the previous gen 18. Although we wanted to get a new one we could not pass that feeling until recently when I test drove one with 19. It feels almost the same way. So we upgraded ours with a '15 model. I always want Michellin so that was the first thing I checked. Luckily ours comes with Michellin. My GS came with Dunlop which I thought wasn't too bad until it gets close to 10K. My 4GS fellow always claim their Michellins are much more quiet and smooth. Either way your car looks great. Congrats and Enjoy!

Great that you found one with Michelins. Every 19 inch wheel on the lot had Dunlops. It is amazing with all the commentary on this that Lexus hasn't forced Dunlop to make improvements. I understand the need to have more than one supplier, but you would think the quality would have to be similar. By the way due to our 15 year old Windstar finally needing to be replaced,we also bought a Highlander this week with 19 inch wheels. It has Toyo's. Will be interesting to compare the two over time.
