Thanks! These forums are great!
I use the Corvette forums religiously, so when my wife's 2010 RX nav went all wonky I found you guys, did a quick search and fixed the problem in 8 minutes. Thanks! I can promise I'll be back.
FWIW the nav system has some settings that can be selected/deselected only after you select a destination and before you select the route. Those selections are not part of the options on the main Settings/Navigation page. If someone in your family deselects all the options at that point - you'll get all kinds of crazy instructions to get somewhere that is usually a route that's 99% interstate direct.
Thanks again fellas. Drive safe!

Yep a "D" is about right
Aside from the problem we just fixed, the inability to change destinations while moving is maddening. Though they won't admit it (and it's a non-issue now anyway), I'm sure my wife and daughter were clicking through anything and everything the other day when they were driving around downtown Atlanta trying to get from A to B to C and then D. We don't live there so we're not intimately familiar with it - just the odd shopping trip every month or so.
Again - I'm glad we found the fix here. The next step was gonna be take it to a dealer and reboot/update the nav package. Whew!

Pretty much every manufactures NAV system is different. That being said, when a person familiar with one buys a car with a different one, the old one they know is always best, right ??? Not really but sometimes it does seem that way. I've used the one in my 2010 RX450h for a bit over 5 years now and know it's way of reasoning. When I got my new Corvette Stingray a year ago, I thought it was the worst thing around and Lexus was best . However I can see plus's & minus's in both. It's the way Lexus and Toyota work so .... It's really not that bad, I've learned to maximize it's features to my advantage. And after a year, done it in the 'Vette too .

wow? glad i dint get the nav then...... $1100.00 more was just out of my budget. and from the complaints i see about it all the time on here, i simply couldn't justify the added expense.

While I admit that our 2014 RX350 NAV system is not perfect, the live person Destination Assistance is something we use quite a bit and solves a lot of the NAV system problems. Talking to a live person and getting a destination loaded into the NAV system while driving is a great service. We like it so much we recently paid to extend the service for 2 years.

No, I don't play soccer!
Thanks Tom558. I'd like to keep this thread positive based on what Peek started. So I have to ask everyone to post their critiques of the nav system here.
Peek, I'm glad you were able to find a resolution to your destination problem in our forum. I know the manuals can be intimidating. Lexus dealers have technology specialist available to answer questions as well.
