Hello all,

I've been really enjoying my '13 RX350 since I purchased it 2 years ago. I recently had an issue where my tire pressure light kept coming on. I would fill it, drive for a few days then it would come back on. Took it to my local dealership (Sewell in Dallas) and they just called and told me that I have a nail in the tire. Unfortunately, it's in the sidewall so they can't fix it but can only replace the tire. The service manager told me that the cost to get the rear left tire replaced (Michelin Latitude tire) would be $391. I just wanted to ask you guys if that is the fair price for this, or if there are any alternative places I should look into to get the tire replaced. I'm almost sure that Sewell is being fair with the price, but I just wanted to check in case there was something I'm missing. Thanks everyone!

Rxhopeful, go elsewhere. Tire Rack has the Michelin Latitudes for $236 (18") and $284 (19"). That doesn't include balancing and other things. Add those in and I'm sure it'll still be less. Sorry about the tire.

Really? Is that with labor? Not sure if we have Tire Rack here in Dallas.

I had a punctured tire in Little Rock back in April with the same exact brand and size. After calling several places we put on spare and got to the tire shop. Total costs including tax was $378.

Yes, but is this with the labor included? I'm trying to see if the cost is really cheaper than just having Lexus do it.

If you are in Dallas there has to be a lot of Michelin Tire dealers. Get on the phone and check on availability and prices. When I had to have the tire in Little Rock there wasn't but the one I found for that afternoon. We were still 250 miles from home so I was in a spot, but the tire is outrageously expensive also.

^I'd suggest you call them to make sure they have the size you need in stock and the related costs. The point is there's plenty of options outside of the dealership. Shop around.

Go on the Discount Tire web site and you can configure everything. Even check availability at your local Discount Tire dealer.

I just went online and looked. They have 3 different kinds. Not sure what my Speed rating is though (V or H). My guess is probably H, since I didn't get any type of special performance package or anything. Any idea of what the standard would be?

It's V. Speed rating is located right on the tire.

Save getting on/off the merry-go-round. Call the dealer & see if he can work with the price.
Maybe a wash & vacuum while its there............something..........anything.
Buying just one tire on-line will be a hassle as you still have to mount & balance it at another shop.

Oh okay, thanks! I would have checked but I'm at work and the car is at the dealer....lol
