Finding heads up display (HUD) and dynamic cruise (ACC) on a 2010 RX?
after doing some digging on the RX, since i'm basically doing car shopping for my mom who got in a wreck recently, i discovered that it had an optional heads up display and adaptive cruise
the HUD buttons are visible in this video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YeNv39PbyHA#t=1m31s
and the ACCbutton is visible in this one
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ipeIGkwe2ZA#t=48s
and my methods are to basically look at photos from listings on car buying websites and look for those two sets of buttons
but i have yet to find a single 2010 RX with either of those options installed! what gives?

ACC, at least now anyway, is a special order item and you'd be extremely lucky to find one on a lot somewhere.
You can find HUD without having to special order, but it's still pretty rare to see one on the lot.
I just looked on cars.com and came across 2 cars (2010 MY) that have heads up display (one in colorado, one in dallas, tx): cars.com
Granted, that's not the only 2 that are available, but you will be hard-pressed to find one close to you.

didnt realize ACC was a special order thing, did it become not-special-order after some model year?

I'm not positive 2010 was a special order thing or not. All I know now is that I didn't see one new RX with dynamic cruise control anywhere - checked 6-10 dealers in my area. There were some cars with HUD though.
I ordered a 2015 with both of those features.

No, I don't play soccer!
joekitch, I have HUD and pre-collision system/dynamic laser cruise control on my special ordered 2010 RX450h. It was common to find RXs with HUD back then, PCS not so much. BTW, I rarely use the dynamic laser cruise control. It's useless in congested areas or at low speeds. The PCS part, however, has its merits.
Good luck finding the right RX. And I hope your mom is OK.

what? oh, no, it was just a fender bender
of course the car itself was a pos 2003 chrysler minivan so basically any damage puts it into "totaled" territory
that thing was burning oil at like a quart a week, among MANY other problems
its bad to speak ill of the dead but......i am glad its gone, and she is too

We have HUD on our '10 and it's great, especially when we travel to Canada in the summer. It's easy to push the button and change the display to KPH instead of MPH. I don't think you will find many vehicles with it because it was a $1200 stand alone option so it would normally be considered a pricey gimmick.
