Default Our '14 RX350 a year later.

Our one year purchase anniversary was October 13. Overall we have been very happy with our first Lexus.

We purchased the prepaid 5 year service and were so unhappy with the dealer and the 5000 mile service we decided to cancel the plan. That was when we realized the prorated value of the service agreement started to run 31 days after purchase and not at each 5000 mile service. We lost $200.00 on the deal but I think we will be ahead in the long run.

We took a 3 week 5000 mile trip from CA to MO and could not have been happier with the comfort and features of the RX on the trip. The only thing I missed was the adaptive cruise control.

The 10000 mile service was at 12,500 and we were much happier with the dealer for this service.

I'd like to get the service back to even 5000 miles so I think we will do the 15K at just over 16K and then the 20K at 20K. I have talked to the local Toyota dealer and we will be having future service performed there.

We just go an email from the Lexus dealer saying the 20K service was due. I guess they are skipping the 15K and fast tracking us after our trip milage.

We got some paint dings in the hood on our trip and were surprised that the Silver Lining Metallic (1J4) touch-up paint was not available through the Toyota parts department, we ordered through the Lexus dealer and picked up at our 10K service. I guess there is still some use for the Lexus dealer.

We use the Destination Assist live person a lot and have been very impressed with the service. We just renewed for about $500.00 for two years. I find the voice activation feature of the NAV system only works for Go Home and Delete Next Destination. The NAV system itself certainly has issues but along with pre-planning for trips and used in conjunction our phone navigation at times it has worked for us. If there was a concierge service available for Google Maps we would have considered that. It is important to us to be able to talk to a live person while we are driving and have them locate our destination and program it into the NAV system.

Our gas milage has been variable averaging 20 over the first year with a low of 15 and a high of 25. Day to day driving is around town, my wife's commute is 12 miles each way, 3 days a week. On our 5K MO trip the average was 21 with a high of 25 and a low of 20.

We shopped for about 6 months on and off and the Lexus RX and Cadillac SRX were the only two that made it through our selection process. We have owned several Toyotas and been very pleased with the reliability and I think that was the major deciding factor.

The RX replaced a 2002 Highlander. I don't think we will wait as long to replace the RX and another Lexus would be high on our list but I think we would go through the shopping experience again.

We are both very pleased with the comfort and features of the RX350.
