Default Special Pricing on Lexus NAV Update

Just traded my 2011 for a 2015 but have received an email saying they have special pricing in NAV map updates till the end off the year - $99 for non-SD update and $149 for update on SD card... The fine print of the email shows a 2014 copywrite. I would buy if I still had the 2011.

http://lexus.sewellparts.com/data/v14.php

Sewell is selling it with an added discount for our members; make sure you establish your account there listing Club Lexus on setup for our discount (Nav version comes out to $93 something during the pre-January special)

...forgot about the Club Lexus discount. It is nice that Sewell offers that. $93 is a really good price for the Lexus NAV update.

Don't forget to include $150 or so labor at the dealer to get this installed.
To my knowledge, Lexus does not make user-flashable Nav units.

My RX spent 2 days at the dealer while they were figuring out how to do the update.

I finally got my first nav update for my 2010. (I figured once every 5 yrs would be fine). The cost was $100 plus $40 for labor. I said I'd wait for it since it was only supposed to take 1 1/2 hrs. However, after about 2hrs and 15 min, the service rep said "I don't know why it's taking so long, so why don't you take a loaner and we'll bring your car to you when it's done". They knocked off $25 for my inconvenience. Thought that was a nice touch!

Yeah, got the nav update for the wife's 2010 today. I also figured it was time to update it, after 5 years. Paid $99 for the update and $65 labor at Lexus of Sacramento. Took a little over 1 hour...

Indwarrior the nav update cannot be installed by anyone but the dealer. The part that you purchase is actually a USB stick with an authorization code on it. The Lexus tech inserts the USB stick into their Techstream laptop that is then connected to the vehicle's OBD-II port under the dash. The code on the USB stick authorizes the Techstream laptop to download the map data from a Lexus source, and then to the vehicle via the OBD-II connection. Hope this helps.

I must admit I'm confused. If I purchase the Nav update from Sewell, I'm going to assume that I will still need to take it to my dealer to I have the update performed. Am I correct?
