The V8 engine sounds a bit silly. BUT - the 350hp doesnt sound too unrealistic. Pop the GS450h engine inside the RX and there you go :P

Another thing, all the new generation SUV's have come out or are about to come out including the XC90, RR Sport and possibly the new Q7. I think Lexus have strategically timed this so that they know what the competition have to offer and therefore produce something better.

Look at the NX, its late to the party but blows everything else out of the water for styling and fit and finish. The quality in the NX is superb, very GS like

I hope you are right, but as vlad explained the mounting of the GS450h engine makes it incompatible with the RX.

I could see a V8 coming if there were an RX F coming, but there are many other F models they need to make before they make one for the RX.

The NX is also slower compared to the RX which tells us that Lexus does not value speed in their SUVs.

I could be wrong but with higher fuel economy standards coming, I doubt ther will be a V8 for the RX. I think it is more likely it gets a larger Turbo 4.

The turbo 4 wont cut it. Itll have to be a turbo 6 if they were going down that route. An RX300t with 330hp would be quite good

Lets not forget that the NX200t gets to 60 in 7 seconds flat which is pretty quick for an SUV. The RX, being the "better, bigger brother" will undoubtedly have to beat that!

I dont think the weight differential between the two is going to be that great, so it may work.

The new one will weight about the same as the RR Sport I think. Especially if they're going for the competition with all the gadgets etc etc
