I've got a silver sharpie you can borrow if you'd like? No one will be able to tell the difference!

^LOL!

Yeah, I know where that car wash is. None of them will take responsibility for damage. Route 10 tapes the plates so they won't bend. The signs should read "enter at your own risk.' The convenience can come at the cost of having to get the vehicle repaired. I've seen enough people walk into dealers saying they went to a car wash and now this or that is damaged or broken. And I haven't even touched the quality of work.

I'd be wondering if the rest of the badge is compromised. Go ahead and replace it.

Ha! I feel guilty just bringing in the car to the dealer for washing. I had 2 washed at the car wash just before the dealership on Rt 10. The cars come out clean, but somehow the mats are never hooked in and once the clip holding the mat was missing. Later I ended up going to the dealer to get the hook replaced and it got washed! Hmm.

Test the remainder of your letters and numbers by trying to pull them off with dental floss. A loose one will fall off. Any heat will loosen the glue. Hope this helps. Good luck.

I shouldn't admit this on a car forum; however, I am guilty of driving around in a dirty car! I too feel guilty bringing it to the dealership, but I do bring it once in a blue moon if I am in the area and it is a nice day…after witnessing people shoveling the free snacks into their purses and briefcases, I feel less guilty about the free car wash! LOL

I just returned from visiting my brother in central Jersey. Most cars have a light coating of dust/dirt. The road conditions vary so much that a pristine car wash would only last 30 minutes, given the road construction, puddles and unexpected events encountered in a typical drive. It's OK to drive a dirty car. You get points for honesty.

Despite what people say that the polyshield is a waste of money it keeps my car quite clean and shiny. Only winter salt and sludge affect it. When it comes out of a commercial car wash it actually sparkles more than some new cars.

Life is good again.
Stopped in to Lexus dealer on RT 10 (warnock) the other day. Told them the what had happened. They said no worries. Have a seat we'll take care of it. Brought the RX over to detailing and glued the "X" back on. 15 minutes and a cookie later the identity of my RX was restored.
Now that's customer service!
No BS about warranty or other excuses etc. just took care of it.

Wonderful! Glad to share a great dealer. Been using them since 1998 with my first RX.
