the funny thing is that it has no navigation... it's a loaner BTW. the **** is new to me, never seen it before. why would Lexus have a loaner with no nav?

Lexus Display Audio, with the **** as shown here, is now standard on the 2015 RX. Navigation remains optional.

How do you find the interface? I have heard it works quite well.

Why should a loaner have Nav?

That is what I have in my non-nav RX. I had a chance to use the nav joystick. I like the non-nav controller better because I don't have to look at the screen since most of the menu goes in a circular direction. I found the nav joystick to be too sensitive that it would skip. I hope the new touchpad works better.

I had the no nav before switching to f sport. This system is much much quicker and the scroll is easier to use than the nav versions joystick.

This has been standard since 2013 no?

Interesting. Didn't realize that. I thought it was just optional prior to 2015, but not standard. All of the press around the 2015 model changes note it as new.

The RX 350 and 450h now come with a standard 7-inch Display Audio system that also doubles as a backup camera when the crossover is put into reverse.

push the menu button to locate the interface... and yes it does seem a bit easier than the mouse in my 2013 LS.

i've received loaners since 2009 from Lexus and they've all had nav... never had a loaner without one.

I used one of these in a loaner ES350. I nicknamed it the "slap wheel" because you spin, then slap. You can move the wheel to like a mouse, but not as nice as the mouse type. In general I found it a bit slower to navigate the screen menus compared with the remote, but then, I've been using a mouse for decades.
