Default Keep it civil

Ok, this is pretty much hashed out in every direction. Nav screens are polarized, polarized sun glasses make the screens harder to read. Understood.

So everyone has to accept reality or this thread is going to go the way of a lot of IS threads.

If you can't post something beneficial to the thread, then don't post.

That's great. I'm glad that Lexus took up and resolved the issue to your satisfaction. It's nice to see a story end like this. Congratulations. Enjoy your car now.

I have a pair of Ray Ban shades (non Rx). Not sure if polarized or not. I noticed this "problem" on our 15 RX too. I don't notice this on my 13 GS. So the RX display may have some issues. I just stopped looking at the display. My wife has not said anything so no biggies for me.

The way to see if your glasses are polarized is to hold them up in front of your eyes and rotate them 90 degrees. If the image contrast changes, they're polarized.

If you do that with 2 known polarized sunglasses, (wear one pair and hold the other pair at 180 degrees in front of them, and slowly rotate the other pair to 90 degrees while looking at an image, as you cross polarize the 2 pairs of glasses, the image will turn to opaque black.

Pilots are not supposed to wear polarized sunglasses for this reason because LCD gauges will have blank faces.
