What the heck is.........
the cover or plate that is at the bottom of back window. It is removable being held on with some snap clips. This is inside the window in cargo area.

It completes the back cover when the hatch is closed. But if you take the back cover off & overpack, when you close the hatch it will pop off. Since the windows are so darkly tinted, I really don't see the reason other than looks from the inside...

Mine's a 2014. Discovered it shortly after purchase on a Costco run. Loaded up the back and when I went to unload it was hanging from inside the rear door. Seems I had partially popped it out.

Oh, you're talking about the half-moon shaped, stationary portion of the retractible luggage cover mounted ON the door and not the 2 inch by 4 inch cover plate mounted IN the door that covers the emergency door release.
The oil slick delivery system was only on the later half of the 2010 model year RX450's.

Roger this small cover runs the length of the door right below the window on inside. If you run your fingers along that inside edge you should feel the holes where it clips in. IMO kind of useless.

Go to eBay and search for:
10-13 OEM USED LEXUS RX350 CARGO COVER PRIVACY BACK REAR TONNEAU BLACK
The piece we're discussing is often called the "extension" on eBay, curved on one side and straight on the other. The retractable luggage cover (privacy cover/tonneau) is square. In order to fully cover the cargo area and mate up with the curved rear lift gate, the extension is curved on one side and straight on the other. The extension has clips that snap into holes in the lift gate. The extension is sometimes un-snapped and rattles. If the cargo area is packed full of packages or gold bullion, the extension is often knocked off. People often remove it or work very hard to replace it.

OK, thanks for the reference. I checked my RX and lo and behold the curved piece is there attached to the lift gate. DUH. I never noticed it before. When I first got the RX I took the square piece out because I never use it, just pain in the ash. I don't carry gold bullion either.

My 2015 RX came with the Tonneau cover. I had to go look on eBay to see what you guys were talking about, and then go check my vehicle. Sure enough, there was that curved piece. I had no idea it was removable. I love that I learn new things here at ClubLexus. Thanks!
