Default '11 Swap out the Plastic Window for GPS?

So, I have my CPO 2011 in the condition I am thrilled with - minus one part ... The scratches on the Window for the GPS...

So two questions -

Is it easy enough to take off??? and if so, any idea where I can get a replacement piece?

Thanks!

This drawing appears to show it all as one unit.
Cannot confirm but a call to a dealer might help.

Thanks for that link ... yeah, depressing - looks like one unit ..... Might try what I use on my Pinball machines on the playfield, it gets light scratches out without any residue or damage...

If they're not to deep, you can try Semichrome, it's a jewelers polish that can polish most anything w/o hurting it. I used to use it on the w/s of my BMW motor cycle to clean the scratches. Can also use it to polish metal, even aluminum exhaust tips. Just about anything. It's a very light abrasive that shouldn't hurt the screen but try in a small place 1st.

Default Replacing plastic bezel over display

This topic came up recently and is covered in another thread, but I don't know how to access it.
Turns out the plastic piece can be ordered and there are instructions on how to remove and replace. It looks like a tricky job, but with the right tools, any if you hold your tongue just right, it should pop out and back in satisfactorily.
Hope this helps.

Yes, that is the thread, but I thought I saw pictures showing the special tools to remove the parts that hold the plastic in place, they look like shims with hooks. I remember a price of about $60 for the clear plastic part. None of that is there. Maybe it got deleted because it's no longer true.
I'm glad I read this cautionary piece because we are very careful with what we place in front of the display.
