Default cannot pull out the engine oil dipstick

Last had the engine oil changed by the dealer awhile back on my 2013 RX 350. went to check the engine oil today and lo and behold I cannot, for the life of me, pull out the engine oil dipstick. I feel that if I pull any harder I'll pull the handle off. really weird

Any thoughts?

My 2011 CPO was like that when I bought it last year. With a little twist and a hard pull, it came out. I then applied a little motor oil to the rubber O-ring gasket and now it's fine.

I have another car and I did pull the handle and broke it. Did you try twisting it back and forth? Be careful.

You are under warranty. Take it back to the dealer and let them remove it or break it. This should be a no charge item. After all, you were only trying to check the fluid level. Make sure you can do it yourself while you are still on the lot after they "fix" it.

Maybe the heat expanded the tip and it got lodged somewhere down there. Then it cooled down and got free.

I would take the car back to the tech who serviced it. I would make an appointment and talk to the person who signed it off. Something is amiss.

Whoever last installed the dipstick, if you force it into the tube straight without a slight twist, this is the result so take it back to the dealer....

You aren't pulling on the automatic transmission dipstick, are you? That one has a clip lock on it.

That's the type of thing I would like to know what the outcome is. Even if you take it to the dealer, ask for an honest explanation and please let us know. If this happens to me, I hope there are no kids around, cause they will surely learn a lot of new words.

Nipponbird - I agree and very cleverly written.
