Remote start and windows unrolling issue
So I went to start my car today from the 2nd floor window of my office using my remote start installed by the lexus dealer. I spaced out and accidentally pressed the unlock a few times instead of the lock and all of my windows went down and my moonroof opened. Luckily it had stopped raining! I tried everything to close the windows with the remote and it wouldn't work. So there I was with the car running and all the windows down!
Am I missing something? Shouldn't I be able to close the windows as well as open them with the remote start? This would have been a real issue had it been pouring rain.

Unrelated to the remote starter is the ability to open the windows and roof to air the car out on hot days! I don't think you can close them with the remote! However, the remote starting will stop the engine as soon as someone tries to open the door.

I disabled remote moonroof opening on mine. Sometimes I want to open the windows just a tad from the remote and it would leave the moonroof ajar. I would have to remember to close it when I start the car.

No, I don't play soccer!
^ But you get a message on the center screen to let you know the moonroof is open.
I have to agree with there being a learning curve involved. It takes more than a push to open the windows. The button has to be held down. I keep an eye on the RXh to make sure i get the full blink sequence. It's also easy to tell the difference between locking and unlocking (if programmed) - one blink for lock, two for unlock. And sometimes I will open the windows slightly to get the hot air out before using remote start in the summer. There is no option to close the windows and moonroof with the remote but you can use the key from the fob. Turn left and hold. It will also lock the RX.

vlad, I don't believe there is a message when starting the RX but to me it makes more sense to have it appear when I'm exiting the vehicle, which it does. It dings too.

Thanks everyone. Guess I will chalk it up to a learning curve. I don't want to disable it because I don't mind them being down when its running since touching the door handle turns off the car with the remote start.
As long as its not raining anyways! lol
On a side note, I've read the ability to close them is only disabled in American cars for some reason and in Europe the fob will close them too.
