Default Towing Prep Pkg

Hi - new to the forum - just got a great deal on a leftover 2013 450h. It didn't have the towing prep pkg, but I had the dealer throw on a trailer hitch anyway. Just curious if anyone has had their dealer install the towing prep package after purchasing, as it is a factory option.

Wondering how much off MSRP and how many miles this car has?

Check your manual, you can still tow, just not as much as if you had the tow prep package. Compare what you have to your towing needs before you go any further.

If you have AWD. They do not recommend towing with a FWD RX450h. Perhaps bring will let us know what they have.

Have a look at the Dimensions tab under Specs:

http://www.lexus.com/models/RX/specs/

Would suspect that hanging a bike rack would be OK for FWD.

Finally, this thread should probably be moved by the mods over to hybrid.

Thanks for replies.

It's AWD. Only have the hitch for a bike rack, so not going to waste my $ on the towing prep pkg.

Just to give you an idea what towing prep package really is, an upgraded alternator is a very useful feature on a hybrid RX450h. If you didn't guess it yet, there is NO alternator! I specifically wanted mine without one.
