2013 RX350 condensation in tail lights
#16
I saw it happen in the tail light assembly in my 2013 RX after DIY car wash. I assumed it was to be expected because of the tiny hole in the light assembly. The hole is not a defect since it is there in identical spots on both sides. The car is four months old with 5200 miles of city driving. But I saw the issue at around 1200 miles itself. Maybe it has to do with the amount of water and angle used

No, I don't play soccer!
Art61, I'm glad the dealer changed out your tail lights for you. And I hope the moisture problem doesn't reappear. It's not something I've seen in any of my RXs over the past 15 years. Good luck.

Gosh this is still happening? I have a few early 90's LS400s and all have moisture in either head lights or tail lights. The Geo metro doesn't have any moisture in its lights.

This can happen to any car if the conditions are right. Simple science, my house windows get moisture on it if the humidity in winter is too high inside the house and outside is too cold. The lights in the vehicle aren't sealed and they are exposed to the elements with heat being produced by the lights.
Having said that if it is always occurring it could be a bad seal.

On Toyotanation.com there are numerous complaints of bad seals in the 2014-2015 Highlander tail lights. It appears Toyota has been replacing them for these owners.
