RX 350 tranny dipstick
Does anyone know if the RX 350 has a transmission dipstick? I've searched on CL and
there isn't a definitive answer to this question. I thought that these were sealed transmissions
and had life time fluid and required no service, having said that, if you check the 3rd Gen.
Lexus Maintenance schedule for the 30k. service why would it show "check transmission fluid
level" if it didn't have a dipstick? Seems contradictory to me.

No dipstick does not mean that the fluid level can not be checked. Instead of a dipstick, I would think there is another method like an observation hole/port.
What Lexus is trying to tell us is that unless you see evidence of fluid leaking, you need not worry about it. I prefer a stick too, but todays car makers are not asking for our opinion.

As Greg said, there is no dipstick. Lexsus says the transmission is sealed and there is no need to inspect the fluid. If a service/repair is needed then the mechanic will take care of the fluid check.
My father-in-laws 2001 Olds Aero is the same way.
I guess Lexus (and GM) are expecting/hoping that the owner will bring the vehcile in for repair at the slightest sign of leakage. Rather than you just topping-off the fluid as needed, now you have to get the tranny repaired or risk burning it up since you can't tell how low the fluid is.
Tak06, my 2014 Maintenace/Service book does not have a recomendation to check the fluid at 30K (at least I didn't see it when I looked in the book). Is yours a '14?
My father-in-laws 2001 Olds Aero is the same way.

This thread in the LS 430 forum covers this extensively. Seems like most are recommending a 3-4 part clean fluid transfer after 60K -90K. It is a good read

There is another item which Canadian spec RX's do not have is the oil maint light. I maybe wrong but I can't find it.
