My car has 44,000km on it and for the past 6 months I have noticed the exhaust sounds a lot louder than it did when the car was new. The car is 4 yrs old now and I dont expect my car to be exactly like a new car but I also do not expect the exhaust system to be so loud ( it is not like a Harley exactly but it is noticeably louder than before).

Has anyone else experienced this with their car?

I have the ECP, if there is a problem with the exhaust system would the dealer fix or replace it for me under warranty?

I just found a previous post about "The annoying droning engine sound", I guess my problem is similar. Even when the car is warm and on idle, it is louder than before.

My '97 Avalon had that same droning sound, especially when upshifting from first to second. Never did find out what it was. I suspected the valve in the muffler.
