Don't think it's possible with the current RX. This is one thing I thought would be nice when I was test driving the Acura MDX tech (it beeps at you if you turn your turn signal on when your BSM detects something), and it can actually get annoying. A lot of the time you want to turn on your signal to let people know you're switching lanes, and the beeping itself is a distraction.
The Lane Departure Warning beeps can be even more annoying, but thats a whole other feature.

yes. It's totally a software thing. It would be nice to add that as an option. But I guess it's not that critical.

I'll begin with that I love my 2013 RX450h, even though I ordered and took delivery of it a couple months before BSM became available as a mid year option on the 2013s -- which I wish I had. If I ordered a new RX today, it would have BSM, just as it would have PCS like mine does now.
FWIW, I ordered my even newer 2014 Mercedes-Benz SLK with its "Blind Spot Assist" capability. It works pretty well... Yellow, then red indicators in each of the side mirrors as a car sneaks up in those blind spot areas, and if I put on my turn signal, e.g to change lanes, and the yellow or red indicator is on, I get an additional audible warning. That makes enormous sense to me to get the extra warning when I have physically taken action to do something the vehicle thinks may put me at risk. It's exactly as I'd like it to operate. Hopefully my next Lexus will do the same when I have BSM on it. (...and, I can either turn on or off all of the MBZ Blind Spot Assist option in the onboard computer settings, not modify only the audible tone part of its function.)
