Default Looking for Samsung S3 mounting solution in 2011 RX

I have a 2011 RX350 and am looking for a convenient way to mount my Samsung S3 cell phone.

I don't want to use a cup holder space though and would like to avoid a solution which involves in professional installer.

Is there anything you can suggest?

I know there a suction cup mounts but those don't seem reliable. I was thinking about buying a cigarette lighter solution but it's quite low in the car. Would there be a way to mount there?

Please let me know. Thanks.

I would check out Pro Clips. I've had it on my GS and now my RX with my iPhone and it love it. I think its the best phone mount around. Its a little pricey though. Probably $75 for complete setup.

Your link reminded me I've used this brand before. I had installed by a local shop and was thinking of doing it myself this time.

I like the console mount style. Is there is any change between 2013 and 2013 RX350 in terms of the mount to console device?

This proclip solution just reminded me of few things.

1. Don't you need a special case for the S3 in order for it to fit inside the proclip holder?
2. How do you charge the phone while installed in the proclip product? Is'nt there an issue with doing that?

Please let me know. Thanks.

1. I currently have an adjustable holder so I can use my iPhone with or without a case. It looks like they make one for the S3 also.

2. I have my cable running from the usb port of the armrest its long enough to reach the phone with no problem.

Is there a way to hide the cable going from the armrest to the side of console where the phone is mounted?

I would like to hide that cable if it was not too much aggravation.

you can easily pop the center up and hide the wire underneath. I was able to pop it up with my hands.

The console mount product costs $29.99 and I if I can do myself like their video that would be for a combined prices less than $80 which would work.

How sturdy is it for you?

Its pretty sturdy. It'll take quite a bit of force to remove this once installed

Thanks. Now I just need to figure what I am going to do regarding the case. I currently use the Shell/Holster combo which I got for the S3 when I was at the local Verizon store.

Should I try the proclip universal holder and keep my existing case or should I switch to the guardian case and go with Proclips' custom solution for that?

Personally I would go with a universal holster just incase I get a different phone later.
