Just buy this filter wrench peoples:
Amazon.com: Assenmacher Specialty Tools TOY 640 Oil Filter Socket Wrench for Toyota/Lexus: Automotive Amazon.com: Assenmacher Specialty Tools TOY 640 Oil Filter Socket Wrench for Toyota/Lexus: Automotive

Pair it with a 15/16 deep 6-point socket with 3/8ths drive and you're good for the life of the car. It's been discussed many, many times.

You read my mind. I was just about to ask which wrench should I buy from Amazon.

Yea, but that is why they make adapters.

Surprising how tight these are being put on as the torque specs are not much beyond hand tightening plus a fractional turn with the wrench.

Default Leave the filter in there

What's your recommended oil change interval?
On my 2013 it's 10,000 miles, so if you changed your oil after 4K, you have 6K left on Toyota's recommended duration for the filter.
Don't worry about it.

I would mention it to your dealer, though, if they're the ones that overtorqued it last time.

Dealerships tend to overtighten the filters because of leaks from the filters. O ring seals just need a slight lubrication and low torque setting.
The oil filter is critical in good small particle filtration.
