Default Lexus LED Fog Lamps at Sewell

Sewell has LED fog lamps for our RX's and by the description, it looks to be plug & play.

The price looks very reasonable, about as much as a good quality HID kit and carries Lexus warranty as a plus. Has anyone try these?

I found some info on the IS forum... they look very good. I've already ordered a pair for myself.

Current status is "backorder" with delivery estimate of 10/15.

I promise to post pics when I get them installed

Question - Why wouldn't you just change the bulbs in your current fog lights to HIds for less than $100 for the pair??

I originally considered doing that but a few things changed my mind:
1 - putting HID in a reflector housing for halogens is asking for glare
2 - for less than $100/pair I doubt the quality/longevity of the bulbs & ballasts
3 - no warranty with aftermarket stuff, if it burns my wiring harness it'll probably void my Lexus warranty too
4 - adding HID kit is more work with ballasts to mount
5 - Lexus LED lights are OEM, has valid warranty, and is totally plug & play

I spent a lot on my car, I'm not going to go cheap on things in which I don't have a high level of confidence.

I replaced mine with VLED LED's $59 for pair... very happy with light output...
Part ID: H11_10_XB_W_5K
I am curious how much brighter the HID's are?

btw, I could not access my fog lights on 13Rx, needed a lift, they are buried. Some mentioned it was a breeze, just reached right now down with the hand... maybe it was some of the options I got, or just a year change, but it was impossible to access them without removing components from below...

You can also pull the wheel liners back and just access it from there.

Or just do the H11 to H9 conversion for much brighter lights and a much heavier wallet. http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums...Number=1980520

I did this on my CT200h which has H11 low beams and fogs. I replaced the low beams with H9 bulbs and a plug and play harness adapter. The 2 relatively easy required mods to fit are to trim off one tab on the metal part around the bulb so it fits the notches. If you do not get the harness adapter you have to trim away a plastic tab on the base where the wire plugs in.

H11 bulbs are designed to last much longer than H9 but are not as bright. H9 bulbs do have a shorter life in exchange for brightness. However you can buy a lot of bulbs considering both LED fogs are over $300.
