any one replaced SOS system with eyeglass holder?

I wonder if I could remove the SOS system and install eyeglass holder in its place?

If anyone done it, please post info/your experience.

I believe disconnecting it causes problems. If you search this forum, you will find a post where someone pulled the connector and tells what happened.
